Seller's Description:
Very Good. No Jacket. Peiping: Henri Vetch, 1937. Book. Very Good. Cloth. A clean & unmarked copy of an authoritative and scarce work. This book is tightly bound with over 100 black and white plates of fine Chinese bronze mirrors. It appears to have been rebound in thick red library binding. Spine has good strong gilting on title and library number. Front has a small oval insignia of the S.F. Public Library. The front pocket has been removed, leaving some paper remnants. Title page has old perforated library stamp. The pages have faded to a deep ivory with slightly darker edges that have a touch of foxing. Page ends are speckled from the original marbly paper design. Red covers have good strong, even color. Cover edges have moderate light usage, some soil spots along spine gutter, and a small old pen dash, but looking well-preserved for their vintage. A nice working copy..
