The first book published by the Janus Press, with 3 of Van Vliet's woodcuts. Grey paper wraps are sunned at the edges and spine, stapled, errata sheet at the copyright page has browned and marked the facing pages, it's rear portion in the notes has done the same. Institutional stamp on first blank, the word "degage" in the text has had accent marks penned in (by the printer? ). This small book was a limited edition of 100 copies but this copy is unnumbered with no limitation page, text linotyped thanks to "Mr. Robert Baecht, a philosopher, at the Grove Printing Company, Lemon Grove, California. " Quite scarce, the first Janus Press book, long before the company moved to Vermont.; Woodcuts; 8vo 8"-9" tall; 45 pages.
