This is an excellent piece of work. Glynn is as thorough as he is enchanting. This book seems to compile everything that modern man has been able to uncover about the brain and/or (depending on your philosophical disposition) mind. Such diverse topics as Darwinian evolution, language, the nervous system, memory, and artificial intelligence, to name a few, are all discussed with clarity and charm. Glynn even considers important philosophic issues concerning mind in the last chapters. One caveat: although most of the text is fairly lucid and easy to follow, some of the details and discussions can get rather technical. Overall, a great book.
