Ever see the movie, "An American Crime" ? It's unfortunately a true story, which just happened to take place in Indianapolis. Ellen Page, from last years "Juno", stars in "American Crime" as the older sis, Sylvia Likens, a teenager who, along with her younger sister, is left to live temporarily with the seemigly mild-mannered housewife, Gertrude Baniszewski, played by Catherine Keener. It is a disturbingly well done portrayal of the actual events in good 'ol, 'Indi-a-no-place'. Where were the 'Indi-ana-police' then ? Somewhat similar to another excellent gem from E. Page, "Hard Candy"; which is very uncomfortable for the first 20% but wins you over in the end. A tour-de-force, both.
