I generally love Amelia Bedelia and her quirky interpretations of her instructions, but I found this book to be dated and rather disturbing. Amelia Bedelia ends up leaving the baby in her playpen most of the book. AB leaves baby Missy crying (because she doesn't want to give her a botle as it might break) in her playpen. AB plays with all Missy's toys as Missy watches on from the confines of her playpen. While a few parts are light hearted and funny (AB is instructed to give Missy a mashed banana; she does, whole! and it gets squished all over), as a mother I found the babysitting mishaps to be neglectful and therefore I can't recommend this book.
