The present publication is the catalogue raisonn??? of Al Taylor's graphic works and introduces a previously nearly unknown aspect of his oeuvre to the public for the first time. Aside from the published prints, the catalogue also includes all the trial proofs and variations, which sometimes substantially differ from the final versions. Taylor's graphic works combine the age-old medium with new creative ideas, the experimental spirit of which makes them among the most inventive works produced by this generation. Thanks to a series of important exhibitions, the American artist (1948-1999), who understood himself not as a sculptor but more as a painter and draughtsman, has received the attention of a growing audience since the early nineties.

Seller's Description:
As New. 3775726462. *** FREE UPGRADE to Courier/Priority Shipping Upon Request ***-*** IN STOCK AND IMMEDIATELY AVAILABLE FOR SHIPMENT-Flawless copy, brand new, pristine, never opened--224 pages; 140 illustrations. Description: "The delicate Postminimalist sculptures and drawings of the American artist Al Taylor (1948–1999) were for a long time better known in Europe than in the U. S., despite Taylor's residing in New York. Laboring quietly from the mid-1980s until his premature death from cancer at the age of 51, Taylor made abstract drawings and sculptures derived from found materials that refresh both abstraction and Postminimalism with their gentle humor and lightness of touch. Working in a decade that favored less discreet gestures, Taylor never loomed large in the New York art world's consciousness (despite his brief tenure as a studio assistant to Robert Rauschenberg). Alongside an increasing number of exhibitions, this publication helps to remedy that oversight, providing a catalogue raisonné of Taylor's graphic works, thereby retrieving a previously little-known aspect of his oeuvre. Aside from the published prints, it also reproduces all of the artist's proofs and variants, which often differ significantly from the final versions. " [Catalogue Raisonne, Catalog Raisonné, Complete Works, Life and Work, Raisonnee]--with a bonus offer--May be either: out of print (OOP) and extremely rare in this pristine condition; signed by author or contributor; or a first or special edition.
