A view of Mexico (and America) from a British traveler during the time of the Mexican-American War. Ruxton (1821-1848) was a British soldier, explorer, and travel writer. In 1846, he went to Mexico to observe the Mexican War, then he traveled north through Texas to Santa Fe, and Colorado. Quite an interesting account of a fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.
