I used this text for my Adv Calc course back in the 70s. Excellent examples, good problems and careful exposition are what I remember from it. Of course it helped that I had a great professor, Dr Bender, who imparted a sense of precision that coincided well with the text. And I kept the book and refer to it from time to time for 30 years now. That's a good book.

Very Vague
It's not exactly the kind of book you curl up with next to a fire and read for recreation, but that's besides the point. I've had several calculus textbooks before, but this one takes the cake for being hard to read. The examples given are ambiguous, and the problems do not relate to the examples very well. I guess if you just LOVE a challenge, this book might be for you, but I do not recommend it, personally.
