Green silk cloth boards with gold decoration on cover, black stamped lettering on cover, gold stamped lettering on spine. Light soiling to cloth. Tiny spots of wear to corners and top and bottom spine edges. Binding is tight & square, no cracking. Pages and edges are clean. Chocolate brown endpapers; small chip to top edge of front fixed endpaper, small mark where bookplate had been and has fallen off. Color frontispiece illustration with tissue guard. With numerous illustrations from the author's sketches and descriptions by Mr. John B. Gibbs.
