Excellent Overview
Given that Ferling covers a half-century of history, his handling of the facts and figures, the personalities and groups, the ideas and trends, is very well done. An informative and enjoyable read.

Best Single Book
I would say that this is the best overall read on the Revolution. It balances the narrative with the facts and the perspectives that integrate our struggles today into the founding context of our republic. . We are still struggling with empire, stilll seeking a humane balance that serves both our economy and our society equally.
