Twenty-one different Species of mosquitoes have been found to occur in the British Islands and it is by no means easy to distinguish every one of these species from all the rest. It is hoped that this Handbook, prepared with that end in view, will make it possible for the student to identify all the British species without much difficulty, and not only in their adult stage as flies, but.
