His Lordship dying in Alicant, in January 1814, her Ladyship married, 2dly, Charles Montolieu Burges of Beauport, in the county of Sussex, eldest son of Sir James Bland Burges, by Anne, daughter of Colonel Montolieu, to whom she has a son; Charles James ', Savile, born 7th October 1816; 2d daughter, Lady Susanna, born 26th May 1788, and died November 16,1805. Archibald, the eleventh Earl, dying without male issue, was succeeded by his eldest daughter in a great proportion of his very extensive landed property. The titles and the greater part of the family estates devolved on Hugh Montgomery of Coilsfield, who is descended thus: (See page 254.) XVIII. The Hon. Colonel James Montgomery, fourth son of Alexander, sixth Earl of Eglinton, acquired (by purchase, with the tocher of his Lady) the estate of Coilsfield in Ayrshire. He died about the month of October 1675. He married the only child of Eneas Lord Macdonaldof Aros, by whom he had issue; 1st, Alexander who succeeded him, but died soon after unmarried; 2d, Hugh Montgomery, afterwards of Coilsfield; 3d, Margaret, married to John Chalmers of Gadgirth; 4th, Mary, married to Dunbar of Machrimore; 5th, Elizabeth, married to Kennedy of Kirkmichael. XIX. Hugh Montgomery, on the death of his brother, succeeded to the estate of Coylsfield. He married, first, Jean, daughter of Sir William Primrose of Carrington, by whom he had three daughters; the eldest married Hamilton of Letham; the second, Thomas Girven, Esq.; the third, Burnet, Esq; He married, 2dly, Catherine Arbuckle, widow of Hamilton of Letham, by whom he had a son, Alexander, who succeeded him, and a daughter, Margaret, married to John Hamilton of Jamaica, (brother of...
