Chance deserves his, well (for lack of a better term) chance. In the other stories of the series where he is on the fringes, he still has presence. I wanted a story about this mystery brother and I was not disappointed. This is a shorter, single read type story. Which is good because you will not want to put the book down. He has set up his prey (the heroine) so well, that unless you are a quick study of Howard's writings, you will not find out until they are airborne. His determination toward his goal is not thwarted, even while he is falling in love. Even becoming besotted, he still sticks to his plot. While things change and the plot needs altering once he understands Sunny's plight, he still is undeterred toward his goal. One can even understand, while not liking his ititial motives and the risks he takes with his love. She is an innocent throughout with a drive to protect herself and a loved one. Sparks fly between them in a good way and in bad when the plan is determined by Sunny. That his force and will are so strong allows him to make confession and try for absolution from his love. His misguided ignorance about himself is what drives him and makes him a believable human and hero.

steamy love story
his only chance mackenie knoe that the best way tp capture an elusive terrorist was to use the mans daughter as bait, unforunatly chance soon realized that sunny wasn"t running from him she was running for her life, she needed chances protection. but keeping sunny safe would ivolve telling her the truth, about his mission and what she'd done to his heart.

I could not put this book down! Be sure and read the entire series. I have not read a Linda Howard book that I did not like.
