Very good; Collectible. This is the hardcover stated Scribner's First U.S. Edition from 1980. Other than a clipped back cardholder flyleaf (ex libris) and a few discreet hi-lites and underlines in the first chapter, both the mylar-covered DJ and the book are in very good condition. There are no rips, tears, etc. --and the pages and binding are tight (see photo). Check my feedback to see that I sell exactly as I describe.
I like Graves' attention to detail but in a life more filled with angst than drama it becomes tedious and the book could be reduced to half or 2/3 its length. Housman's life was interestig enough and presents a clear revelation of the England in which he lived, much like a museum diorama.
