It presents information on the sources and character of the various materials in use, the behaviour of materials during the founding of the glass, the nature of the various types of glass and its behaviour during the forming and decoration processes. It also explains the terminology and some historical developments. The author, Charles Bray, is a glass artist and former head of the Glass and Ceramics Department at Sunderland University.
