The first half of the work is devoted to bottom fishing in which Francis explains the various styles of angling including pond fishing, punt fishing, bank fishing and various others. The next section discusses mid water and artificial fly fishing. It is however, the chapters on salmon fishing that stand out in this particular book as Francis provides in-depth analysis of the various issues revolving around salmon fishing including the correct use of the rod and line, casting and striking.
