It is hard to review this book. It was wonderfully written, but incredibly dark. I started out believing the perspective of the narrator, but as time went on, I became suspicious of the narrator. Despite having repeated glimpses of hope, by the end there is none. I thought the mother could also have been better developed, which might have given some more depth to the story.
