This is a fun little coffee table book containing lots of Hollywood stars from the 50's. The short introductory text by his granddaughter, who edited the book, gives an interesting insight into the times and his life after he retired from the movies. Apparently he was an avid photographer and he had the time and money to indulge his passion. It is called 3-D Hollywood because the pictures were all taken with a stereo camera, which has 2 lenses, side by side. This type of camera takes 2 pictures which are almost identical and when seen through a special viewer looks 3 dimensional. This is an old-fashioned process which used to be called a stereopticon. You don't need special glasses to see the photos as they are both regular photos set side by side. The ad says 3-D glasses included. I think this is a mistake. The book itself doesn't say that 3-D glasses are included and, as I say, they are not needed to see them as regular photos. The regular green and red 3-D glasses that we are familiar with will not work. Harold Lloyd has another book, also edited by his granddaughter, called Hollywood Nudes in 3-D. This is a collection of over a hundred photos of nude starlets. Many, but not all, of these photos are in the 3-D process that we are familiar with and need the green and red glasses to properly view them. 3-D glasses are included with this book. It is a fun under the coffee table book.
