Among the surprises is the folk-based material, including "Eight More Miles to Louisville" and "Grandpa Boogie," where he slips into a really cool '40s dance groove. The sound is generally okay, though a little bright where it might use more depth, and a few tracks like "East Bound Freight Train" sound as though they're drawn from not quite first-generation sources.
