Campbell recorded some of the most satisfying and mature pop hits of the era, especially in a series of singles written by Jimmy Webb, including "By the Time I Get to Phoenix," "Wichita Lineman," and "Galveston," and those three tunes are all included on this collection. As the title suggests, 10 Great Songs only offers a brief sampling of Campbell's recorded legacy, but it includes several of his best and biggest hits while offering a few surprises, including his playful version of "Bonaparte's Retreat," and a fine cover of Jackson Browne's "These Days" from the 2008 album Meet Glen Campbell.
