Marian Partington was born in Oxford in 1948. Her writing is rooted in the landscape of the mountains and rivers of Montgomeryshire, Wales, where she has lived with her husband since 1980, and where their four children have grown up. Her writing is rooted in the landscape of the mountains and rivers of Montgomeryshire, Wales, where she has lived with her husband since 1980, and where their four children have grown up. She is the author of the acclaimed Guardian essay "Salvaging the Sacred". She works in prisons to raise awareness about restorative justice, and, since 2005, has been working with the Forgiveness Project as a storyteller and facilitator.
