Here at the library we are noted for our holdings in genealogy and local history. One of our rarest items is a copy of the original Guide Book to the Chickamauga Battlefield Park, although we lacked a copy of the accompanying map. Worried that the condition had deteriorated badly and finding that very few copies existed of the Guide and the only copy of the map was at the Library of Congress, the decision was made to save the Guide by scanning. A photocopy was not good enough, too dark.... read more
