This version of Pirandello's Henry IV seems to be very close to the original. Of course the italian director uses the resourses of cinema especially to the scenes of the past which were impossible to present in theater. Those scenes were presented before the contact with the person who pretends to be the historical personage.Until the end we did not know what to expect, and then we discover that nothing is what it seems to be.
