Having just completed a family musical that is sure to be a $30 million flop, Felix knows that his days are numbered and tries unsuccessfully to commit suicide. When he recovers, Felix suddenly has a brainstorm and hatches a scheme to buy the film back from his studio and lens new scenes that will turn it into a pornographic movie with big stars, a sure-fire box office winner. In order to pull it off, he'll need to convince his female lead and wife, Sally Miles (Julie Andrews, not coincidentally the director's real-life wife) to defy her wholesome, squeaky-clean public image by baring her breasts on film. TITLE: S.O.B.
GENRE: Comedic satire of the filmmaking industry
CAST: Richard Mulligan, William Holden, Julie Andrews, Robert Preston. Larry Hagman, Robert Vaughn,Shelley Winters, Robert Loggia, Robert Webber, Craig Stevens, Loretta Swit, Stuart Margolin, Marisa Berenson, Jennifer Edwards, Rosanna Arquette, Joe Penny, Corbin Bernsen and Larry Storch
PLOT: With a flop on his hands, A Producer/Director decides to do the unusual (?) thing of 'making it about sex'. His wife the actress agrees to expose her bosom to help save her part of the investment, not his vision.. Meanwhile the typical corruption of Hollywood continues around him.
RETURN ON INVESTMENT: 8 of 10; The dialogue is masterful. Highlighted are the low morals and love of the high life. There are a couple of stunts. Julie Andrews does not sing very much in this vehicle. She uses it to show 'other talents' shall we say.
DVD BONUS: An incomplete cast list, a brief filmography for Blake Edwards (that's his daughter, Jennifer, playing Lila) and a theatrical trailer.
ADDED NOTES: One of the lead performances is excellently (! worth the investment!) turned in by William Holden who made, unfortunately, his last appearance here. And that is Sargent Agarn playing the Indian Guru.

I love this movie
If you've somehow missed this little gem, do yourself a favor and find it somewhere. With a truly all-star cast and Richard Mulligan at his funniest, it is wild, wooly and completely wonderful.
