Good book, but not as good as first two in the series! It was well written from the falcon's perspective.

Great story of a boy adapting to life in the wild.
Sam, a teenage boy runs away to an abandoned family farm in the Catskill mountains of N.Y. He survives on his own without any modern tools and by using his ingenuity and knowledge of nature. Great read.

Incredible book
I read this book with my 8 yr old daughter and I don't know who liked it more! The story was so exciting and intriguing that we couldn't wait to sit down each day and read. We are definitely going to get the sequels!

My husband recommended this book to me. He had watched the film on TV when he was younger and had been inspired by it. I think that young outdoor-loving boys would love this book, but certainly many others as well. I sure did! Anyone who has ever dreamed of running away from the city to live off the land will enjoy this adventure. Again, Jean Craighead George disappointed me with the ending, but I can see how it might be satisfying for some.
