Excerpt from The Christian Religion as a Healing Power: A Defense and Exposition of the Emmanuel Movement Since the publication of the book Religion and Medicine, about eighteen months ago, a widespread desire has been expressed for a brief and simple exposition of the ideas and methods of what has come to be called The Emmanuel Movement. This little book has been written in order to meet this desire, and should be read as a supplement to Religion and Medicine. The first part, by Dr. Worcester, appeared as an article in The Century M aga zine for July, 1909. It is here reprinted with the exception of a few sentences as it was orig inally published. The second part, by Dr. Mccomb, appeared in the pages of The Hib bert Journal for October, 1909. It is now is sued in a revised and expanded form.
