A very comprehensive and detailed compendium of Spanish handguns from 1863 to the mid 1990s. Not a "good read" but I can't think of any information on the subject that was omited or could have been covered better. Well subdivided and indexed, with numerous illustrative photographs..

A Good Body of Information
In a world full of information on virtually every subject, it is always nice when someone pulls random bits together and puts them together in a handy tome. For firearms collectors, many such books exist, ranging from indifferent to outstanding in quality, particulalry on well-known collectors marques, i.e., Colt, Winchester, Smith & Wesson, Ruger, etc. Little, however, in the way an organized work on the subject of Spanish handguns existed until Mr. Gangarosa put this volume together, and for those of us with an interest, it is a welcome addition to our libraries. Having a rather massive collection of books on virtually every subject imaginable, I am proud to have over one hundred books, many of them now valuable classics, in the firearms section of my home library. This now has a place among them. Having been an afficiando of Spanish-made pistols since I was a youngster and these "cheap" handguns were usually all a poor country boy could afford, this volume had to end up on my shelf. Is it perfect? No. It is not terribly well organized regarding photo placement and relevant text, and occassionally, as an old handgun guy, I find some fault with some of the technical facts espoused by the author. However, in the main, if you have an interest in these old guns--which are starting to become collectible--or you are a serious student of Spain in the twentieth century, you need to have this book. As with all of my technical books, I find myself going back and referring to it on a regular basis. Thanks for your efforts Mr. Gangarosa.
