Sandford has written a fascinating biography of music ikon, Paul McCartney. The author focuses on McCartney's music; inventive, ambitious, and, of course, commercially successful. There is enough gossip here, including the infighting among the Beatles, McCartney's love life, his drug use etc., but ,mostly ,this is a positive portrayal of McCartney the musician,an innovator and perfectionist.
