But when war called the athlete became an airman, embarking on a journey that led to a doomed flight, a tiny raft, and thousands of miles of open ocean. Unbroken is the life story of Louis Zamperini. He was a runner, Olympian, World War II bomber and prisoner of war. In other words, he has an amazing story to tell.
Laura Hillenbrand has uncovered a special story that could have been lost in time; it's a good one to tell as it embodies so many aspects of historical details. It is a journey of epic proportions.
I would have loved to give this book 5 full stars, but I couldn't.
Vulgar language started appearing after 1/3 of the way into the book. More precisely, it is vulgar name-calling. I rather wish the author could have not used the exact names (yet stay true to the facts), and perhaps pulled it off in a more discreet way.

UNBROKEN
Great book of life before and during World War II. It shows how anyone can come to faith and how faith can sustain one in times of need.
