Fine in Near Fine jacket. 288pp. Cream boards, black spine with gilt lettering. As new in near fine pictorial jacket, which has a touch of wear to the extremities. is a memoir by American author Stephen King that describes his experiences as a writer and his advice for aspiring writers. This was King's first book after he was involved in a car accident. On Writing is organized into five sections: "C.V.", in which King highlights events in his life that influenced his writing career; "What Writing Is", in which King urges the reader to take writing seriously; "Toolbox", which discusses English mechanics; "On Writing", in which King details his advice to aspiring writers; and "On Living: A Postscript", in which King describes his van accident and how it affected his life.
Yes, I do love this book. Its funny, insightful, helpful, entertaining! You learn about writing and about Stephen King! I have read this book about 3-4 times. In my top 10.

Good Book For Aspiring Writers
Great book for an aspiring writer, and without the lengthy dialogue that King is so famous for.

A writer's writer
I could have skipped the first 100-page autobio, though I learned some tnings, but what came after that was invaluable to me in its insights to King's ideas about good -- and bad -- writing. Would I recommend it to a friend? I already have, to a couple, who write -- and it was recommended to me by one of the greatest young writers in America.

Heart of Creativity
