Hard to find two characters who would love nothing more to hate each other. Well, he would anyway....even does already. And who can hate that much without love being close behind? A prideful heroine comes easily to writers like Howard. But, one with so much RIGHT to be is less so. This is so much about right and wrong that one cannot help but root for the underdog (the heroine). Even at his worst, the hero is likeable with his unwillingness to ruin her. His pride with her successes make him loveable even while he is trying to run her out of town. Proximity does what it natrually does in a Howard novel and the chemestry leaps off the pages to sear the reader. This is one story told fully without rush and captivates from beginning to end. A second read through leaves one feeling the same. Take care! Read everything you can!
