The author was a little girl when someone sneaked into her home as she lay sleeping and murdered her Father. As an adult, she went back to her hometown and confronted people, explored archives, studied police reports, followed obscure leads, interviewed people who I wanted to slap because of the way they treated her. I admire her bravery and determination. I bought two copies of this book and gave one to a popular local beautician whose Father was a L.E.O. in the area for many years. And this county (Merced) was rural with a small population when the killer struck-somebody knows something! I tell people about the book every chance I get and explain that besides being a good book to read- there is a large reward. I want Rachel's Fathers' murderer caught and punished....she lived through a nightmarish childhood but grew up to be a lovely, talented, kind human being. I met her at a book signing event and she was gracious and openhearted. What she has done with her life is amazing-check out her webpage then buy the book and spread the word. There is no statute of limitation on murder. Let's find her Daddy's killer!
