While not the best in the series (that would be Rifkind's Challenge) this would be well worth picking up. It's the second in a series of three; the first is Daughter of the Bright Moon -- more worth reading for the ideas than the prose perhaps, but for those of you that like the old-fashioned Swords and Sorcery type stories, this is a must-read
