Great idea, to recast Dumas's classic The Three Musketeers in an imagined Brustian world. Great idea. . . but the mannerisms given to the characters and the tediously labored language make the reading slow and the desire to turn the page evanescent.
Maybe the Dumas classic has the same qualities, come to think about it, but one read it in childhood when all was fresh and exciting.
