I enjoyed this book a lot. I have read all of his books. They kept me interested in the storyline, and wanting more.

"..from tonight..be kinder than necessary." Barrie
Investigator Wayne Watson has been found dead and his wife and six-year-old daughter missing. The police think it's murder suicide. However, Wayne's father doesn't believe it. He hires Lincoln Perry and his partner, Joe Pritchard, to investigate.
With good dialogue and interesting characters, Michael Koryta takes the reader on the trail as the detectives begin their query. They are surprised to find that Weston didn't seem to be working on any cases. Looking at his finances, they find that he seems to have been working for wealthy real estate developer, Jeremiah Hubbard. However, when they visit Hubbard, Hubbard is evasive and then offers them a bribe to drop the case.
This makes the detectives suspicious and intent to find what is going on. Then the investigation goes in directions that couldn't have been imagined. They find that there is a connection to Russians with underground ties.
The novel is well done and keeps the reader's attention throughout. The author provides a number of surprises to keep the reader guessing.
Very enjoyable.

twists and turns
Kept me reading and surprising me to the end. Reminded me of Mickey Spillane's Kiss Me Deadly. He's someone to watch (and read ,of course)
