In the first house the kitchen filled the place now occupied by the Chapel. The present house, built during 1870 - 1, was also designed by Mr. Devey. It is in the Elizabethan style, and is of red brick on a foundation of Kentish rag, with Bath stone mullioned windows. The brick gable and the clock tower, beyond the wing, were added in 1882. The main part of the low terrace wall, with the four circular bays, was put up in 1875; but the portion round the Temple was not completed till 188 3, in which year also the Temple itself.
