Dr. William Rand was born and raised in the Northeastern United States. He received his Master of Arts degree in creative writing from Iowa State University and his Ph.D. in literature and Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of South Florida. Dr. William Rand was born and raised in the Northeastern United States. He received his Master of Arts degree in creative writing from Iowa State University and his Ph.D. in literature and Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of South Florida. Dr. Rand has over twenty years of experience in teaching university level creative writing, composition and literature, four years of experience in teaching film studies, and ten years of experience in teaching ESL in three countries. Dr. Rand has also served as a weightlifting coach and fitness and conditioning instructor. He has published a dozen books in fiction and nonfiction, along with several articles in literature, creative writing, weightlifting and herpetology. He now lives with his wife in Mexico where he continues to write and teach. In addition to writing, Dr. Rand and his wife enjoy traveling, watching films, studying languages and raising reptiles.
