He resides in New York City and paints life around him in the city and throughout the country. His paintings are in notable public and private collections, and museums throughout the world including the Museum of the City of New York; the New York State Museum, Albany; the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection; National Academy of Design; Fordham University; Museum of Performing Arts; and the Billy Rose Theatre Collection. Coyle has been an instructor of painting and figure drawing at the Art Students League, NY, since 1974.
