Steve Hemphill grew up in Mason, a small city in central Texas. He received a marketing degree from Abilene Christian University in 1979, and married that same year. His wife is a sixth-grade math teacher. He has three sons, and a foreign-exchange student from South Korea who has also become part of the family. His oldest son is a C.P.A. in San Francisco, and the other three boys are all dentists. Steve began a successful technology company in 1982, which eventually grew to 35 employees before Steve left the business world to begin full-time ministry as an author and inspirational speaker. His first book, "My Search for the Real Heaven," was followed by two titles exploring the power of prayer, spiritual warfare, and demons in today's world. This book, "What Are The Stakes?," was preceded by "My Search for Prayers Satan Hates." Steve is available for lectures and church outreaches.
