Roswitha Burwick
Roswitha Burwick is a Distinguished Professor Emerita at Scripps College, Claremont, California (1971-2011). She majored in English and German at the University of Wurzburg (1964-1968) and wrote her dissertation on Arnim at the University of California, Los Angeles (1972). Her main research focuses on Romanticism, 18th- and 19th-century literature, and 18th-century history of science. In addition to Sigismunde Uhtke's Der weibliche Eremitenblick auf das Theater der Welt, her publications include essays on Romanticism with a focus on Achim and Bettina von Arnim and fairy tales. She is editor of the Neue Zeitung fur Einsiedler (2016-) and Vice-President of the International Arnim Society (1996-). See less
