In 1972, he published his groundbreaking weight-loss book, Diet Revolution --the first major work to prescribe a low-carbohydrate diet. It was followed in 1992 by the revised and updated Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution , which spent more than three years on the New York Times bestseller list.
