Robert Bruce Stanley, the eldest son of Robert (Bob) and Audrey Stanley, born in Medicine Hat, Alberta June 16,1949. Throughout my younger life I had the opportunity to travel and live in Europe, and throughout Canada from Ottawa to Vancouver Island. This was made possible by my father being in the Canadian Air Force stationed at locations throughout Europe and Canada. My family loved life and was loving and closely knit. This made me proud of who we were as a family, especially my father and mother (God bless them). They went out of their way to ensure my brothers and I had the best gifts they could give. Throughout my life, I explored many different paths. A job as a farmer in 1967 (that did not fit me at all), aerial surveying from 1967-1969 (it was good, but as a young guy I needed more excitement). The army, 3rd PPCLI, which I joined in 1972 (it was not for me). Then into the transportation industry, beginning in Victoria BC as a bus driver in 1975. Transport has been in me up to the present. From there I moved around and ended in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1980, where I was joined by parents and brothers. I pursued a career in the transportation industry in safety, training, trucking, and in bussing in tourism, where I'm currently working as a tour operator. Because of the murder of my father, the inaction with Restorative Justice in Alberta was also part of the RJ Canada. The involvement in conferencing involved also being trained in the conference process and firsthand knowledge of the system with connection in the RJ community. Understanding how the system works is big in my life. See less
