Paul Huvenne
In 1984 Paul Huvenne gained his Art History PhD at Ghent University through his study of the sixteenth-century Bruges-based painter and cartographer Pieter Pourbus. Since 1973 he has been involved as a researcher at Antwerp's Centrum Rubenianum, which is concerned with the study of Rubens. In 1984 he became the curator in charge of the Rubens House. Since 1973 he has been involved as a researcher at Antwerp's Centrum Rubenianum, which is concerned with the study of Rubens. In 1984 he became the curator in charge of the Rubens House. From 1997 to 2014 he was general director of the Royal Museum of Fine Arts Antwerp, which he comprehensively revitalized, re-establishing its international reputation. He has taught at the University of Antwerp, the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and KU Leuven.
