Patricia McKinsey Crittenden is an independent developmental psychologist, teaching courses on her own theory and assessments internationally. She earned her Ph.D. under Mary Ainsworth (an eminent figure in developmental psychology). She is widely published in peer reviewed journals, has published several books and is completing the development of a life-span set of assessments of attachment. In the past she has been on the faculties of the Universities of Virginia, Miami, and Helsinki, as well being appointed Visiting Distinguished Professor at San Diego State University, Visiting Fellow at the New South Wales Institute of Psychiatry, Sydney, Australia, and holding the Beverly Professorship at the Clark Institute in Toronto, Canada. She is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Bologna, Italy. She has published books in English, Spanish, and Italian.
