Martin Pops
Before his death of Lou Gehrig's Disease in 2012, Martin Pops taught for four decades in the English Department of the University at Buffalo. Born in the Bronx and educated at Hunter College and Columbia University, he was the author of Home Remedies (essays on literature and culture) and of books on Herman Melville, Jan Vermeer, Albert Pinkham Ryder. He also edited and contributed to a special issue of Salmagundi on dance.
