Born by mistake in South Carolina, Margaret Bailey moved to Colorado as soon as she'd received her master's degree in German from the Johns Hopkins University. She taught German, English, English as a second language, guitar, and Spanish in the Denver Public Schools. She retired early to devote herself to writing and moved with her German husband to Frisco, a town nestled at 9,000 feet among the 13,000 and 14, 000 foot peaks west of Denver.
