Luis Martínez-Fernández is Pegasus Professor of History at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. His research and publications have focused on Cuba, the Hispanic Caribbean, and the Cuban and Puerto Rican diasporas in Florida. He is the author of several books including Frontiers, Plantations, and Walled Cities and When the World Went Upside Down.
