Dr. Lin Xiao currently serves as the Director-General and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Development Research Center at the Shanghai Municipal People's Government (SDRC). Dr. Lin Xiao currently serves as the Director-General and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the Development Research Center at the Shanghai Municipal People's Government (SDRC). Dr. Xiao graduated from Shanghai Jiao Tong University with a PhD in Financial Management and currently serves as a PhD supervisor for Economics and Finance. Dr. Xiao has been appointed as an adjunct professor, visiting professor or distinguished professor at several prestigious Chinese universities, such as Fudan University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Tongji University, East China Normal University and Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, etc. Concurrently, Dr. Xiao also holds the following posts: Deputy Director of the Expert Committee on Decision-making and Consultation of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Head of the China Free Trade Zone Strategic Research Institute, Vice President of the Shanghai Economist Association, Chief Editor of the magazine Scientific Development and Chief Editor of Shanghai Economy Almanac. Dr. Xiao served successively as Deputy Director-General of the Research Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Deputy Director-General of the Shanghai Municipal Development and Reform Commission, and President of the Shanghai Academy of Development. He was appointed as a member of the drafting group of the Research Office of the State Council, and engaged in the drafting of the documents of the Central Economic Working Conference and the government report of the State Council. His major research fields include finance and asset management, macro-economic analysis and public policy as well as strategic management. He has also led over 100 major decision-making and consultation projects and has published over 300 papers and a dozen monographs, including Financing Management and Value-at-Risk, Financial Strategy and Economic Theory, Capitalization and Value Creation, Government Economics, National Test, etc. In 2014, Dr. Xiao was awarded the honor of "Ten Renowned Chinese Economists of the Year 2013" initiated by The Economist Weekly.
