In Front of God and Everybody was in the top 12 finalists for the 2013-14 Mark Twain Readers Award. McCrite has also written cozy, crafting-circle mysteries for Annie's Publishing. With an unending love for books, McCrite worked for several years in two public libraries. She also worked in the field of mental health as a caseworker.
