A word about the author: John Ritchie (1853 -1930) was born in Old Meldrum Aberdeen, Scotland in 1853 and was saved in 1871. He soon was engaged in full time preaching. In 1877 he married Miss Jeannie Liveston and in 1879 they moved to the town of Kilmarnock and he became engaged in writing and printing. He set up the publishing house still known as John Ritchie Ltd. His best known works are "The Tabernacle in the Wilderness" and "From Egypt to Canaan."
